L-selenomethionine enantiomer is the main form of selenium found in Brazil nuts, cereal grains, soybeans, and grassland legumes. Ideally, selenium should be supplemented in the form in which it occurs naturally in foods and this makes L-Selenomethionine a good addition in human supplements. L-selenomethionine as a source of selenium is added for nutritional purposes to food supplements. Selenomethionine is readily available as a dietary supplement. It has been suggested by nutritionists that selenomethionine, which is an organic form of selenium, is easier for the human body to absorb than selenite.

Selenomethionine contains not less than 97.0 percent and not more than 103.0 percent of C5H11NO2Se and contains not less than 39.0 percent and not more than 41.0 percent of Se, calculated on the as-is basis.

Heavy metal: 0.002%.
Limit of sodium: To pass the test. Not more than 0.1% is found.
